Of Note: When we look upon the wider horizon of the future, what do we see? Many would say more chaos and an unhappy ending for humanity. Others recognize and actively participate in the pain incurred by mankind but see out of that experience coming a desire for truth, sharing, cooperation, group responsibility and a sacrifice of selfishness. Part of that revelation will include a movement toward simplicity, which will most likely translate as a sharing of goods and services. According to TIME magazine, that inclination is already gaining speed in what is called "collaborative consumption," where more stuff is rented and shared rather than owned. The green movement was the original impetus, but eventually this way of being will be part and parcel of the collective consciousness. A more enlightened people will look back on these consumer driven days and wonder what we were thinking.
